In some ways, the Nikon 1 V3/Nikkor 70-300mm lens combo is miraculous. Its small sensor has a 2.7 conversion factor that, at full tele, is equivalent to 810mm in 35mm terms. And it’s in a package that is a fraction of the size, weight and expense of full-frame cameras outfitted with extra-long lenses.
