For some migratory reason, the bounty of birds I saw flowing through our back yard during the summer of 2015 pretty much vanished during 2016. But now, in the spring of 2017, things seem to be picking up — at least in the case of Chickadees. While some bird photo purists regard it as cheating, I’ve resorted to seed balls in hopes of attracting some avian attention — and it’s working.
I believe these are either Carolina or Black Capped Chickadees and they seem to have no problem dining upside down. After a few days watching them feast on one seed ball, I hung up another. It didn’t take long for it to be discovered.
